Water jets and water spray guns will be making a big splash when the party gets underway on Sentosa’s Siloso Beach, come 31 December. This wet and wild countdown party will feature some of the coolest international DJs who will drench you with 12 hours of non-stop music at the largest beach countdown party in Asia!

Two elevated cherry pickers with water jets, that can reach a height of 10 metres, will unleash the water-play onto party-goers at the wet dance zone located in the Main Arena, while foam-fans take to the signature giant foam pool. Soak in the hydro party atmosphere by taking a dip in the dunking machine or splashing water from the water drums.

The championship will be played on Sentosa Golf Club’s two championship courses, The Serapong and The Tanjong, as the world’s best golfers swing into action for the prize purse of US$6 million.

Sentosa’s signature event, Sentosa Spooktacular is set to stage its largest event since 2009. About 15,000 fun-seekers are expected at the annual thrill-event at Imbiah Lookout area and Merlion Plaza which will take place over 5 days on October 21- 22, 28 – 30 2011. This would be a 50 percent increase in attendance from the year before.

Bearing an Asian theme, the Sentosa Spooktacular 2011 features six trails this year, up from four previously, making it the largest Asian horror-themed event in Singapore. This is also the first year that new locations such as the Cable Car Museum, Sentosa Nature Discovery, Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom and 4D Magix & Cineblast are incorporated into the event. In addition to novel structural changes, the designed-by-youths-for-youths event also revised its pricing system for greater flexibility.

Sentosa Buskers Festival Back with New Tricks

The Sentosa Buskers Festival returns for a second year and is set to exceed last year’s turnout of 100,000 spectators by 10 per cent with a bigger ensemble of 13 acts and a focus on charity. The buskers will be out in force on Sentosa during the school holiday week from 3 to 11 September, a deliberate shift from last year’s festival period in end-November.

Bigger ensemble
Thirteen acts from nine countries will add to the buzz at four locations around Sentosa – Merlion Plaza, Imbiah Garden (Amphitheatre), Songs of the Sea (Forecourt) and Siloso Beach (Area opposite Skyline Luge Sentosa). From a juggler to a portrait master and a circus comedian and more, the international motley crew of buskers will inject colours, sounds and playful energy to Sentosa’s sunny outdoors. More than 180 live performances are lined up over the nine-day Festival.
