Project Title
Environmental Study Report for Proposed Slope Stabilisation Works at Tanjong Rimau
Project Description
An Environmental Study was commissioned by Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) in July 2025 for the proposed slope stabilisation works at Tanjong Rimau, Sentosa (hereinafter referred to as the “Project”).
The Project involves slope stabilisation works at the coastal cliffs of Tanjong Rimau, which have experienced deteriorating slope conditions, ongoing erosion, and rockfalls over the years, posing risks to public safety and the area's valuable ecological and historical features. The works include the installation of soil nails and grid beams, rock dowels and rock netting, and toe protection measures to reinforce the cliffs and protect the base of the slopes from wave-induced erosion. These measures are designed to prevent further failures while preserving the natural and heritage character of Tanjong Rimau.

Environmental Study Summary
The proposed slope stabilisation works at Tanjong Rimau have been assessed to ensure they can be carried out responsibly. The area is home to a rich variety of wildlife, plants, seagrass meadows, and coral communities. Most impacts during construction are expected to be minor and temporary, with targeted measures in place to protect the surrounding environment. Some loss of seagrass is unavoidable but will be carefully managed. Once works are completed, the environment is expected to recover fully with no long-term effects

An Environmental Monitoring and Management Plan has been put in place to track the health of the surrounding environment throughout construction and after completion, covering biodiversity, water quality, air quality, noise, and ground vibration.
